Privacy Policy

Depending on which tools you use, you may give us:

• Contact details (name, email address, and phone number), only when you send your brief to builders.
• Property details, such as your address or postcode, yard dimensions, slope, side access, and ground conditions.
• Project preferences, such as pool type, size, finishes, add-ons, budget range, and timing.
• Photos and links you upload or add, such as photos of your yard and design inspiration.

• Your in-progress design is saved in your own browser's local storage so you don't lose your progress. It isn't sent to us unless you submit your brief.
• Analytics: we use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used (for example, pages visited, device and browser type, and approximate location). It uses cookies and similar technologies.
• Advertising: we use Google AdSense to show ads on some pages. See “Cookies and advertising” below.
• Technical logs: our hosting and network providers record standard information such as IP addresses and request times to keep the site running and secure.

• To produce your feasibility estimates and your PDF project brief.
• To email your brief to you.
• To send your brief and contact details to the pool builders we match you with, but only when you tick the consent box and submit.
• To run, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the site.
• To show advertising that helps keep PoolWise free to use.

Pool builders you are matched with. When you consent and submit, we send them your name, email address, phone number, property and project details, and any photos or links included in your brief, so they can contact you about your project. Builders are independent businesses and handle your information under their own privacy practices.

Service providers that help us run PoolWise:

• Fly.io, which hosts the site and its database in Sydney, Australia.
• Cloudflare, which provides network delivery and security.
• Resend, which delivers our emails.
• Google, for Analytics and AdSense.
• OpenStreetMap's Nominatim service, which receives the address text you search for so we can find its location on the map.

Some of these providers may store or process information outside Australia, including in the United States. We may also disclose information where the law requires it.

Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your previous visits to this website and other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on those visits.

You can opt out of personalised advertising in Google Ads Settings, and read how Google uses information from sites that use its services at policies.google.com. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings, though some features may not work as intended.

Submitted briefs are stored on servers in Sydney, Australia. We take reasonable steps to protect your information from misuse, loss, and unauthorised access. We keep it only for as long as we need it to provide the service and deal with enquiries, and we delete it when you ask us to, unless the law requires us to keep it.

You can ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct or delete it, by emailing [email protected]. Information already sent to a builder is also held by that builder; contact them directly to have them update or delete it.

If you have a concern about how we have handled your personal information, email us at [email protected] and we will respond within 30 days. If you're not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top of this page shows when it last changed.
